🏅 B.Tech with Honours
Awarded if CGPA ≥ 7.50 and all subjects cleared in first attempt (no carryovers/backlogs).
📜 First Division
First Division: Total Marks ≥ 60% (Approx CGPA ≥ 6.75).
Second Division: Total Marks ≥ 50% (Approx CGPA ≥ 5.75).
🛡️ Grace Marks (PWG)
Up to 10 marks per year can be awarded to pass a theory subject. Status becomes 'PWG' (Pass with Grace).

What is the official formula for AKTU Percentage?
AKTU uses a specific formula: Percentage = (CGPA × 10) -
7.5.
Example: If your CGPA is 8.0, then Percentage = (8.0 × 10) - 7.5 =
72.5%. This applies to B.Tech, MBA, and MCA courses.
What is the minimum CGPA for First Division?
First Division is awarded for 60% marks and above. Using the formula, this corresponds to a CGPA of 6.75 or higher. Second Division is 50% (CGPA ≥ 5.75).
Honours & Results
How to get B.Tech with Honours in AKTU?
To be eligible for B.Tech Honours, you must:
1. Secure a CGPA ≥ 7.50.
2. Clear all subjects in the first attempt (no carryovers or
backlogs).
3. Often, complete additional MOOCs/credits as per the latest ordinance.
How does Challenge Evaluation work?
If you are unsatisfied with your result, you can apply for Challenge Evaluation (Stage 2). Copies are re-checked by two subject experts. If the average of their marks varies by >15% from original, your marks are updated. It costs around ₹2500 per subject.
Passing & Grace Marks
How many Grace Marks are allowed (PWG)?
AKTU allows up to 10 grace marks per academic year to help pass a theory subject. If awarded, your result status shows PWG (Pass With Grace). These marks do not add to the total but help you clear the subject.
What is the minimum passing criteria?
For B.Tech theory:
• External Exam: Min 30% required.
• Total (Int + Ext): Min 40% required.
For Practicals/Projects: Min 50% required.
What is PCP in AKTU result?
PCP stands for Pass Criteria Pending. It usually means you have failed in one or more subjects and need to clear them (Carry Over Paper) to complete the year/course.
